FAYETTE COUNTY SCHOOLS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION ANNUAL BANQUET ANNOUNCED

The Fayette County Schools Alumni Association is proud to announce our annual scholarship banquet, a special evening dedicated to supporting student success. This year's theme, "Focusing on the Promise and Positive Impact of Education," reflects our commitment to empowering students and celebrating the transformative power of learning. Guests will enjoy an inspiring program highlighting alumni achievements, student stories, and the impact of community generosity. Join us for this inspiring evening, be part of the legacy, and help ensure that our students thrive through the gift of education. â€‹â€‹

Tickets are $75.00 each and must be purchased by April 11, 2026. Tickets will NOT be available for purchase at the door.​

2026 Keynote Speaker, Lance D. Davis

Lance D. Davis is Chief of Public Affairs and News at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, where he manages the center’s newsroom and serves as its official spokesperson.

​

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Oakland, Tennessee, Davis is a graduate of Fayette-Ware High School, Class of 2002, where he earned honors. He attended Grambling State University on academic and music scholarships, including a scholarship from the Fayette County Schools Alumni Association. While at Grambling, he marched in the World Famed Tiger Marching Band and became a member of the Gamma Psi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Davis graduated cum laude in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication, concentrating in public relations. During and following his undergraduate studies, he completed several internships in Washington, D.C., including with the International Broadcasting Bureau’s Voice of America/TV to Africa, where he later worked as a production assistant.

​

He began his civil service career in 2007 as a Public Affairs Officer with the U.S. Army, supporting missions in command information, community relations, and media relations. His assignments have included Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia; Fort Meade, Maryland; the Pentagon; the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Mobile, Alabama; and Camp Zama, Japan.

 

Davis remains actively involved in service beyond his professional career. He serves as President of the Fayette-Ware High School Alumni Class of 2002 and is a Mason with Rough Ashlar Lodge No. 47, where he supports community service initiatives in Northwest Huntsville.
